Step-by-Step Instructions

Normal vs High Pressure

Normal operating pressure is 8-15 PSI. High pressure is 8-10 PSI above your clean starting pressure.

Step 1: Check Filter Type

Different filters require different cleaning methods.

Step 2: Clean or Backwash

  • Sand/DE filters: Backwash for 2-3 minutes
  • Cartridge filters: Remove and hose down cartridges

Step 3: Check for Closed Valves

Verify all valves are in proper positions.

Step 4: Inspect Return Lines

Check for blocked return lines or closed directional fittings.
