Installing a New Cartridge Filter

Filter Installation Overview

Installing a new cartridge filter improves water clarity and reduces maintenance compared to sand filters.

Step 1: Choose Location

Select level location near pump within 6 feet. Ensure adequate clearance for cartridge removal.

Step 2: Prepare Plumbing

Measure and cut PVC pipes. Dry fit all connections before gluing.

Step 3: Install Filter

Place filter on level pad. Connect inlet and outlet pipes using unions for easy removal.

Step 4: Connect Pressure Gauge

Install pressure gauge on top of filter to monitor performance.

Step 5: Fill and Test

Open valves slowly, checking for leaks. Record clean starting pressure for future reference.
